Ten Ways to Promote and Sell Your Digital Products

Promoting and selling your digital products requires that you create the product, package it, and promote the product. Most of selling involves getting your product in front of your audience. It’s a lot easier to make a sale when your ideal customer feels as if they just discovered the holy grail because you put it right in front of them so they could not miss it.

1. Your Website and Blog – Everything starts with your blog or website. It’s not a good idea to send people someplace else to make a purchase from you unless you’re making money from an affiliate sale. You want your products for sale on your site, and you’ll need a shopping cart to accomplish it. Look at aMember.com, Kartra.com, and SendOwl.com to get ideas about what’s possible with a shopping cart.

2. Social Media Marketing – In addition to a blog, promote everything you offer on each of the social media platforms that your audience uses. Every post you make, every sale you have, every story you can relate to, and so forth should be shared on social media. Also, add sharing buttons to your email marketing messages and blog posts.

3. Content Marketing – Write blog posts, guest posts, and how-to articles. Make videos all about your product. What problems does your product solve? Create content about the problem so you can educate your audience about it, then offer them the solution too.

4. Paid Advertisements – Don’t discount paid ads. They work. Do try to get everything else in place before running a paid advertisement. You need a good landing page, check-out process and so forth to make this worth it.

5. Guest Blogging – When you find other blogs or online publications that serve your audience, try to find a way that you can get published by them. This is a great way to find new audience members but to also up your expertise quotient.

6. Influencer Marketing – Once you have your product ready, find some social media influencers to take up your cause. You can pay them, or you can find some who will work for a percentage of sales using an affiliate link. An influencer will simply talk about your product, maybe blog about it, and give their honest thoughts about it.

7. Affiliate Marketing – This is why your choice of shopping cart tech is so important. If you’re selling digital products, you need an affiliate program to make more money. Paying an affiliate half of the price of the product is a small price to pay to get more sales when the product is fully digital.

8. Word-of-Mouth Marketing – The more reviews, testimonials, shares, and buzz you can generate to get people talking, the better. Word-of-mouth marketing is some of the most powerful marketing that exists. The thing is, people are more apt to talk about what they do not like than what they do like. You’ll need to find a way to get them talking positively.

9. Creating More Landing Pages – Studies show that having more landing pages is better than having fewer. Create dedicated landing pages for every freebie you have, even your email list subscription, and potentially affiliate products too. This can look like a blog post or a page, but it should be fully dedicated to only one product per page. Some people use a “blog” on WordPress to do this but change the layout, so it has no sidebars and minimal menu choices.

10. Free Trials – Depending on the type of digital product you sell, free trials may work wonders. This is useful for apps, software, and plugins. You may want to offer an example of what your other products look like by creating some freebies that show what you do.

Try using all these methods to promote your digital products and you’ll find that your sales increase exponentially for each method you add. You can make a full-time living selling just one useful digital product to your audience.
